WSCR Demonstration at NEXORA – IHRD CAS Karthikappally
The IEEE Student Branch of College of Engineering Chengannur showcased its Water Surface Cleaning Robot (WSCR) at the NEXORA Expo held at IHRD College of Applied Science, Karthikappally. The WSCR is a student-developed project under the IEEE EPICS initiative aimed at promoting sustainable technology for waterbody waste management.
The robot is designed to collect floating waste materials from the water surface efficiently, contributing to environmental conservation and smart waste handling. The team demonstrated its operation, including the collection mechanism, hull structure, and manual flap control system for waste storage.
The showcase drew significant attention from visitors and dignitaries, including Hon. MLA Shri Ramesh Chennithala, Hon. Minister for Higher Education Dr. R. Bindu, and Dr. V. A. Arun Kumar, Director of IHRD, who commended the innovation and practical application of the project.
The event served as an excellent platform for the student team to present their engineering solution to a real-world environmental problem and to receive valuable feedback from academic and government leaders
