The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Sri Lanka 2026 marks a historic milestone as Sri Lanka hosts its first-ever ICPC contest, establishing the country on the global map of competitive programming. ICPC is the world's most prestigious programming competition, recognized as the Olympics of programming - the oldest, largest, and most prestigious competitive programming contest globally. This two-stage competition features a Preliminary Online Round on January 4th, 2026, followed by the Sri Lanka Onsite Regional for the top 30 of the Preliminary Online Round on January 25th, 2026, at the University of Peradeniya. Teams of three students from the same university compete to solve 5-10 algorithmic challenges within a 5-hour duration in an offline format that tests pure skill without internet access. The champion team receives direct qualification to the ICPC Global, while four runner-up teams also advance to the Asia West Regional contest.
