🌐 Jornada Paranaense de Microeletrônica (JPM)

Jornada Paranaense de Microeletrônica (JPM) is an annual event organized by the Integrated Circuits and Systems Design Group (GICS) at the Federal University of Parana (UFPR) since 2015. The objective of the event is to bring lectures and seminars on microelectronics to the academic community, including undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, technical-administrative staff, and industry professionals.

Since 2018, as part of the JPM program, the Seminars on Microelectronics of Parana (SeMicro-PR) have been organized with the aim of promoting technical and scientific work in various microelectronics areas.

📌 Submission and Seminars

The Eighth edition of the Seminars on Microelectronics of Paraná (SeMicro-PR) took place during the Eleventh Jornada Paranaense de Microeletrônica from November 5 to 7, 2025. Participation in the seminars was free of charge. The program invited submissions of articles across diverse microelectronics topics such as analog, mixed-signal, RF, digital integrated circuits, embedded systems, and more. jpm.ufpr.br

Biography:

Alexandre Shirakawa is Vice President of Engineering at Skyworks Solutions Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from UFPR, a master’s degree from UFPR, and a PhD from the University of Bordeaux I. He has worked professionally at Qualcomm, Broadcom, Avago Technologies, and CEA-Leti.

 

Eduardo Esmanhotto of Cadence

Topic:

Memory, design, and Cadence: a personal journey through semiconductor innovation

Biography:

Eduardo Esmanhotto holds a PhD in Embedded Memories and works as an analog and mixed-signal circuit designer at Cadence Design Systems in Campinas, Brazil. He has extensive experience in the design and verification of high-speed analog circuits and memory products, having previously worked at STMicroelectronics in Grenoble, France. As a researcher, his work focused on memory circuits for artificial intelligence applications, resulting in scientific publications in highly regarded journals and conferences.


Lenon Pinheiro of Storge / Blauberg Brasil

Entrepreneurship and innovation: from the academic idea to the market with STG controllers

Biography:

Lenon Pinheiro is an electrical engineer who graduated from the Federal University of Paraná and holds an MBA in Business Management from USP-Esalq. He currently serves as Managing Director of Blauberg Brasil, a multinational company in the ventilation sector, and as partner and director of Storge, a company that develops automation solutions for ventilation systems and indoor air quality. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the development of STG controllers, a technology that originated from his undergraduate capstone project and has since become established in the national market, with presence also in the European market. His work reflects the integration of research, innovation, and entrepreneurship, resulting in solutions successfully applied to the sector in Brazil and Europe.
