Multi-Sensor Data Fusion Algorithms for Autonomous Systems: Fundamental Concepts of Sensor Fusion
This talk will cover all aspects of sensor fusion algorithms. It includes basics of standard definition, principles of sensor fusion algorithms, Maximum likelihood (ML), Maximum a posteriori (MAP) estimation, Fundamentals of Kalman Filter, and JDL (Joint Director Laboratories) based sensor fusion stages. This will also encompass different sensor fusion methods both decentralised state vector fusion and measurement fusion methodologies - such as, KF/EKF/UKF based track-to-track fusion, Bayesian blending of Gaussian measurement sets, complementary filtering concept, Covariance intersection techniques, case based reasoning (CBR) methods, KF/EKF based measurement augmentation within controller structure etc.
This session will also highlight real life target tracking challenges.
Biography:
Dr. Anirban Roy received his B.Tech in Electrical and M.E in Control System Engineering from Jadavpur University Kolkata. He joined ISRO/URSC as Scientist 'C' as spacecraft dynamics and control Engineer in 2005. Later he worked at General Electric Corporation, Airbus Defense and Space (Former EADS) Germany and Continental Automotive Gmbh in Bangalore and Germany respectively in senior technical leadership positions for 17 years in areas of UAV flight Control, Navigation and Sensor fusion algorithm development for various Aerospace and Automotive applications. He received his Ph.D. in Sensor fusion from IIT Dhanbad during his employment at Airbus in 2017. In his last tenure, he headed the UAV Flight Control and Navigation division at TATA Aerospace and Defense Bangalore. His research interests include target tracking and Sensor Fusion algorithm development for different autonomous systems and UAV flight Control law and Navigation algorithm development.
