IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) Vardhaman Student Branch, in association with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Vardhaman College of Engineering, organized a Technical Webinar on Re-Architecting Electric Power Systems: From Legacy Grids to Cognitive Smart Grids

The session was delivered by Ms. Sneha Vasudevan, Lead Project Manager, California, USA, and IEEE PES SYP Ambassador. The webinar aimed to provide insights into the challenges of legacy power grids, the transition towards smart and cognitive grids, and the role of digital technologies, data analytics, and intelligent control in modern power systems.

The session was intended to enhance students’ understanding of emerging trends in the power and energy sector and to expose them to real-world industry perspectives through an interactive discussion.

Biography:

Ms. Sneha Vasudevan is a Lead Project Manager based in California, USA, with extensive experience in the power and energy sector. She works closely on initiatives related to grid modernization, demand response, and advanced energy solutions, supporting the transition from legacy power systems to intelligent and data-driven grids.

She has a strong academic background in Electrical Engineering and brings a unique blend of technical expertise and industry experience in modern power systems. In addition to her professional role, she is actively involved in mentoring students and young professionals through various technical and leadership initiatives.

Her areas of interest include smart grids, distributed energy resources, grid digitalization, and emerging trends in the power and energy domain.
