Daniel Mutuku is a husband, father, leader, and a professional electrical engineer licensed in the state of Michigan. Daniel is a Senior Engineer at Consumers Energy where he leads a group of electrical engineers working on capital projects at Consumers Energy generating plants, on the west side of Michigan. His experience on power generation includes designing systems in solar plants, hydro plants, gas combustion plants, coal plants and pumped storage plants. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Grand Valley State University and completed his MBA at WMU.
In this presentation, Dan will present Large Power Transformer (>100 MVA) in power grid in USA. He will review the uses of large power transformers, current U.S. manufacturers, challenges these manufacturers face, lead times, and strategies buyers can use to mitigate these challenges.
