Hackathon 2026 ( ElectroNova: Integrating IOT, Robotics and Automation)
IEEE EDS Acropolis, IEEE SB and IEEE MP Section EDS Chapter
ElectroNova Hackathon is 24 hours and based on 3 themes : IOT , Robotics, Automation and VLSI Design.
1. Introduction and Purpose
The proposed Hackathon is designed to provide a comprehensive experiential learning platform for young researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students. The event focuses on bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations by offering hands-on exposure, expert mentorship, and real-world problem-solving experiences across multiple high-impact engineering domains.
2. Multidisciplinary Technical Exposure
The Hackathon will offer in-depth exposure to the following key domains:
a) Hands-On IoT System Development
Participants will work on real-time IoT applications involving sensor interfacing, embedded systems, communication protocols, and cloud-based data processing. The sessions will cover end-to-end system development, from hardware integration to software deployment, enabling participants to understand practical IoT architectures used in industry.
b) Practical Robotics Design and Control
This track will focus on robotic system design, actuator and sensor integration, motion planning, and control strategies. Participants will gain practical experience in designing and controlling robotic systems while addressing real-world constraints such as power efficiency, accuracy, and system reliability.
c) VLSI and Chip-Level Design Skills
Participants will be introduced to modern VLSI design methodologies, including digital design flow, RTL development, functional verification, synthesis, and basic physical design concepts. Emphasis will be placed on chip-level thinking, design automation tools, and industry-standard workflows aligned with EDA platforms.
d) Multidisciplinary Integration Skills
The Hackathon will encourage participants to integrate knowledge from electronics, computer science, control systems, and communication engineering. Teams will work on solutions that combine hardware and software components, reflecting the interdisciplinary nature of modern engineering systems.
