Wi-Fi is a cornerstone of global wireless connectivity, carrying an estimated 50% to 80% of the world’s Internet traffic. Recent advances such as Wi-Fi 6 and Wi-Fi 7 have enabled significant performance gains through technologies including OFDMA, wider 320 MHz channels, 4K QAM modulation, and multi-link operation.

This Distinguished Lecture discusses the future evolution of Wi-Fi beyond raw data rates, focusing on reliability, determinism, security, and intelligence to support emerging applications such as AR/VR, industrial IoT, environmental sensing, contextual computing, and gaming.

Speaker: Dr. Carlos Cordeiro, Intel Fellow and IEEE Communications Society Distinguished Lecturer.
