Robin's Priestley expertise is in Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's) of all sizes.  VFD's are used to control motor speed in all types of industries.  VFD's are used for reducing energy used in the motors for various applications.   Saving energy is a concern for every industry.  There are harmonics when a VFD is used and there are several methods in dealing with them.  Learn about harmonics when a VFD is used and the methods to mitigate thoe harmonics.

Previously Robin presented to the Section on Sustainability, (people-planet-producer) will be discussed from an engineering perspective. Good engineering promotes sustainability. Leveraging sustainability eases funding of engineering projects. When power quality disrupts production, sustainability is negatively impacted. Resources are wasted, production losses hurt the producer and the employees. The interrelationship of power, water/resources and asset utilization are intertwined inextricably to sustainability. In this discussion we will explore sustainability and power quality in a way that starts to unlock the marketing value you have at your disposal to help gain support for your projects.  Robin could bring insights on industries needs from new graduates.
