Dear students,
It is with great pleasure that we invite the academic community to join us for a special event in celebration of Women's Week. We will be hosting a Tech Talk featuring women with inspiring career paths for a conversation about careers and the impact of women in science, engineering, technology, and industry.
Guest Speakers:
Dr. Vanessa Testoni – Professor at Unicamp and Leader of the Brazilian delegation in the ISO/JPEG/MPEG committee, with a solid track record in R&D leadership (Samsung, UNICO) and a postdoctoral degree from UCSD. A Senior Member of IEEE and the Brazilian Academy of Sciences, she has been awarded by MIT TR35 and Microsoft Research, working in signal processing, multimedia, and AI.
Michele Cavalcante – Data and Artificial Intelligence Coordinator at Itaú Unibanco, working with the Latin American International Units. She leads initiatives that translate data and AI into strategic business value. A Master's student at Unicamp, she researches the application of artificial intelligence in monitoring and anomaly detection for solar power plants.
Dr. Ângela Maria Alves – Head of the Computational Infrastructure and Information Systems Division at CTI Renato Archer and holds a PhD from USP. She has extensive experience in ICT Public Policies. She coordinated the Smart Cities Maturity Model (MMCISB/MCTI) and currently leads research on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence and institutional memory preservation.
MSc. Clarissa Loureiro – Senior Technologist Researcher at CTI Renato Archer (MCTI). Clarissa leads projects in Smart Cities and Artificial Intelligence, applying Data Science and statistical models for smart cities. Alongside this, she is actively dedicated to science communication and encouraging young people and women in STEM fields.
Event Details: The event will be held at the Power Electronics Laboratory (LEPO) Auditorium at Unicamp (R. João Pandiá Calógeras, 110), on March 6, 2026, starting at 4:00 PM.
There will be prize giveaways and a coffee break at the end, providing a great opportunity for networking and exchanging experiences with the speakers.
