Build Your Own Satellite (BYOS-2026) is the 24-hour flagship technical competition organized by the IEEE AESS Student Chapter at BMS Institute of Technology and Management. This intensive, three-round "build-a-thon" is designed to transition undergraduate students from theoretical aerospace concepts to practical systems engineering.
The event challenges participants to design, integrate, and launch miniaturized satellite systems. Key highlights include:

Phase 1 (Knowledge): A rigorous online qualification quiz covering satellite subsystems, orbital mechanics, and sensor physics.

Phase 2 (Development): A hardware-focused "Build & Ground Qualification" phase where teams construct structural frames and integrate electronics, subjected to stress tests like vibration simulations and drop trials.
