WIE CARE Christmas: Food drive
WIE Care organized a solidarity campaign to collect food and hygiene items for Vila Vicentina, a non-profit institution located in the Torre neighborhood in João Pessoa that provides care for elderly residents and relies on donations to sustain its operations and staff.
The initiative mobilized the academic community of UFPB, with collection points at the Center of Informatics (CI) (RAS, WIE) and CEAR (PELS), in addition to financial contributions via Pix. As a result, 55 kg of food and more than 30 hygiene items were collected, reflecting strong community engagement and social commitment.
The delivery logistics were supported by the Instituto Social e Cultural Mãos de Mães, which provided transportation to ensure the donations reached the institution.
Through WIE Care, WIE reinforces its commitment to social responsibility, community support, and the promotion of values such as empathy, solidarity, and inclusion.
