            Kuppam, February 11, 2026: Kuppam Engineering College (KEC) proudly organized the Grand Inauguration of the IEEE Student Branch along with four IEEE Chapters (ComSoc., CAS, EDS, BTS) on February 11, 2026. The event marked a significant milestone in the institution’s commitment to fostering technical excellence, research culture, and professional development among students.

Inaugural Ceremony

            The program commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Vice Chairman of the college, Dr. Sunil Raj, symbolizing the dispelling of ignorance through knowledge and innovation. In his inaugural address, Dr. Sunil Raj emphasized the global prestige and professional value of IEEE. He encouraged students to actively engage with IEEE activities to enhance their technical competencies and expand their professional networks at both national and international levels.

Principal’s Address

            Dr. S. Sudhakar Babu, Principal of Kuppam Engineering College, addressed the gathering and motivated students to look beyond academic scores. He urged them to actively participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities, technical societies, workshops, and research initiatives. He stressed that innovation, practical exposure, and research orientation are essential components for building successful engineering careers in today’s competitive world.

Dr. C. Harinatha Reddy delivered an inspiring and motivational address emphasizing the significance and growing relevance of IEEE societies and student chapters in the current technological era. He highlighted how IEEE serves as a global platform that enables students and professionals to collaborate, innovate, and stay updated with emerging technologies.

He also served as the Resource Person for the following technical sessions:

“IEEE Membership Value” – Dr. Reddy explained the professional benefits of IEEE membership, including access to global technical resources, networking opportunities, international conferences, and scholarly publications. The session was attended by staff and students of the Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments.

“Benefits of IEEE Computer Society” – He elaborated on the role of the IEEE Computer Society in supporting students in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, and emerging computing technologies, benefiting CSE and allied department staff and students.

The sessions provided valuable insights into how IEEE membership enhances career prospects, technical competence, and leadership skills, motivating participants to actively engage in IEEE activities.

Biography:

Dr. Chennam Harinatha Reddy obtainedB.Tech in Electrical & Electronics (EEE) from SK university in 2001. Did M.Tech in Power Electronics & Industrial Drives from UCE, JNTU Hyderabad in 2008. And then he obtained his Ph.Dunder the Guidance of Dr T Brahmananda Reddy in the field of Electric Drives in the year 2018.

He workedas AdhocLectruerin EEE dept of G.Pulla Reddy Engineering college Kurnool from 2001 to 2004 June. Later on he worked as Assistant professor in EEE dept of Gurunanak Engg College, Ibrahimpatnam, Ranaga Reddy Dist from July 2004 to May 2006 and then joined in Vignan Institute of Technology & Science as Assistant professor and served in different caders as Associate Professor, Academic Section incharge, ExaminationSection Incharge and Incharge Head of EEE dept till June 013. Later on he joined as Assistant Professor in EEE Department of G.Pulla Reddy Engineering College (Autonomous) in June 2013 and promoted to Associate Professor in the year 2018 and serving to till date.

Benefits of IEEE CAS & EDS

“Benefits of IEEE CAS, EDS, and BTS Chapters” – He elaborated on the role of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CAS), IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS), and IEEE Broadcast Technology Society (BTS) in supporting students through technical activities and resources in domains such as VLSI design, Embedded Systems, Internet of Things (IoT), Open RAN (O-RAN), and related emerging technologies. The session benefited staff and students from allied engineering departments.

Biography:

Dr. K. Rasadurai, is serving as a Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Kuppam Engineering College (KEC), Andhra Pradesh, since 2017. He earned his Ph.D. in Wireless Broadband Communication Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, M.E. in Embedded System Technologies from SA Engineering College, and B.E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Bharathidasan Engineering College. With over 20 years of academic and research experience, Dr. Rasadurai has been associated with several engineering institutions across South India since 2006. He has successfully secured 51.86 lakhs in R&D grants from prestigious funding agencies including AICTE, MHRD, and DST. Dr. Rasadurai has published over 45 research papers, three patents, and three technical books in the areas of wireless communication and emerging network technologies, and has participated in more than 32 national and international conferences. At the institutional level, he has actively served as Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for multiple national academic and research platforms, including NPTEL–SWAYAM, IIRS–ISRO, Spoken Tutorial (IIT Bombay), Code Chapter–IIT Madras, and the Quantum Innovation Centre (QIC). As Spoken Tutorial Coordinator, he facilitated 20 courses, enabling 1,032 students to appear for certification exams, with 878 students earning credits. As NPTEL SWAYAM Aspirant and Active SPOC, he supported 1,319 enrollments, with 280 successful qualifiers. He played a key role in establishing the IRINS portal for KEC on 28.03.2025, strengthening the institution’s research visibility. Dr. Rasadurai also serves as College-Level In-Charge for Professional Society Memberships, IEEE Counselor, and Fellow of IETE, guiding the IEEE Student Branch and four IEEE Chapter Societies—Communication Society, Broadcast Technology Society, Circuits and Systems Society, and Electron Devices Society.
