Biography:
Surajit Kalita hails from Assam, India, where he completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in chemistry. He earned his Ph.D. in computational chemistry from Shiv Nadar Institution of Eminence Deemed to be University, Delhi NCR, India, with a research focus on enzymatic reaction mechanisms. From July 2022 to January 2025, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Sason Shaik at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel. There, his research centered on the use of external electric fields to modulate molecular structure and reactivity. Since April 2025, Surajit has been a postdoctoral fellow at Michigan Technological University, USA. His work has been published in several high-impact journals, including Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), ACS Catalysis, Chemical Science, etc.
