May 2026 Central GA IEEE Meeting: Tour at Kia Georgia

Please make plans to join the Central GA IEEE section as we travel to West Point, GA on Thursday May 28, 2026 to take a tour of the Kia Georgia plant. Kia Georgia is Kia's first North American manufacturing site, which opened in 2009, and produces popular vehicles such as the Telluride, Sorento, Sportage, and EV6/EV9.
This is a high quality tour and there are very limited spots, so registration is required. Please note that the trams for the tour are NOT wheelchair accessible.
Current agenda:
- 11:30am-12:45pm: Lunch in West Point (Optional)
- 1:00-1:15pm: Arrival at Kia
- 1:15-1:30pm: Explore Vehicles, Restroom
- 1:30-2:00pm: Introduction Video and Presentation
- 2:00-2:30pm: Site Tour
- 2:30-2:45pm: Return to Visitor's Center and departure
Prohibited Items
- Photography/video is prohibited inside Kia Georgia’s plant
- Tobacco products are prohibited at Kia Georgia unless in designated smoking areas (when available)
- All weapons, including firearms, knives, and similar items, are strictly prohibited on-site at Kia Georgia
- Large purses, bags and backpacks are not allowed on the tour and should be left in vehicles or on the bus.
- Pets, including service animals, are strictly prohibited on-site at Kia Georgia
Dress Code
- All guests must wear long pants or skirts
- Fully enclosed shoes are required
- Please take note of weather conditions on the day of the tour. While the tour is mostly inside there will be a portion that is outside and you may want to dress with that in mind (raincoat, jacket, etc.).
