Topic:

Armour Conferences on Radio Interference Reduction – 1954-1964

Philip Danforth Armour Sr. founded Amour Institute in 1890 with a gift of one million dollars. At that time he was a well-known business tycoon and the richest man in Chicago due to his meat-packing businesses.

The Armour institute became the Amour Research Foundation of the Illinois Institute of Technology located in Chicago, Illinois. The combination of these entities in conjunction with the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force sponsored ten conferences that studied and supported Interference Reduction and Electromagnetic Compatibility.

This presentation will cover those ten conferences and their impact on the EMC Engineering Community in the 1950s and 1960s.
