IEEE CEDA Distinguished Lecture (Online) – LLMs for EDA | 27 March 2026
Dear IEEE CEDA Members,
We are pleased to invite you to an IEEE CEDA Distinguished Lecture (DL) to be held online on 27 March 2026, from 11:30 to 12:00.
Distinguished Lecture Title: Large Language Models for Electronic Design Automation: From Theory to Practice
Speaker: Bei Yu
The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
(Online Lecture)
Abstract
This talk examines the rapidly evolving intersection of Large Language Models (LLMs) and Electronic Design Automation (EDA). It critically evaluates whether LLMs represent a transformative paradigm for EDA or a transient technological trend. By analyzing recent advances, open challenges, and emerging applications, the talk explores how LLMs can potentially reshape key EDA tasks, including design, verification, and optimization. In addition, it discusses the practical feasibility and ethical considerations associated with integrating LLMs into EDA workflows. The objective of this presentation is to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based perspective on the opportunities and limitations of LLMs in shaping the future of electronic design automation.
We warmly encourage IEEE CEDA members, researchers, and practitioners interested in AI-driven EDA and design automation to attend this online lecture.
Kind regards,
IEEE CEDA Tunisia Chapter
