The IEEE Young Professionals sponsored Two-Day Practical Workshop on “AI for Health: Machine Learning & Generative AI in Medical Research” was successfully conducted on 9th–10th February 2026 at Ajeenkya DY Patil University, Pune. The workshop was organized by the IEEE Student Branch, School of Engineering, ADYPU, in collaboration with IEEE Young Professionals and technically co-sponsored by the IEEE Maharashtra Section.

 

The primary objective of the workshop was to provide students, researchers, and young professionals with practical exposure to Artificial Intelligence applications in healthcare and medical research. The event focused on bridging the gap between theoretical AI knowledge and real-world healthcare innovation through hands-on sessions, expert talks, and interactive discussions.

 

Distinguished experts including Dr. Venkateswarlu Gonuguntla (Research Faculty, Symbiosis International University, Pune), Dr. Deepak Mane (Professor & Deputy Director, IQAC, Vishwakarma University, Pune), and Mr. Majharoddin Kazi (Senior Assistant Professor at JSPM University) shared valuable insights into AI-driven medical research, machine learning applications in diagnostics, and the transformative role of generative AI in healthcare and biomedical innovation. Their sessions provided participants with both academic and industry perspectives on the evolving role of AI in the healthcare sector.

 

The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, IEEE members, and young professionals. Hands-on training sessions, real-world case studies, and interactive networking opportunities made the event highly engaging and impactful. The workshop successfully enhanced participants’ technical knowledge, encouraged innovation in AI-based healthcare solutions, and strengthened IEEE Young Professionals’ engagement in emerging technologies and interdisciplinary research.
