Participants will engage with a panel of local engineers in a lively discussion that reflects on the legacy of women and their contributions to engineering and innovation.  They will explore the challenges and the progress of today from personal, professional and research based events. Every participant will leave with collective actions they can apply to shape a more innovative and inclusive future.

Biography:

Valeri’s career began as a science teacher and quickly transitioned into business where she served as an executive at McGraw-Hill Education and Thomson Learning.

Currently, she is an ed tech consultant and data scientist, who consults with start-ups to strengthen their GTM strategic plans, product development, and marketing.

Valeri serves on the San Diego IEEE board as the Women in Engineering chair where she promotes a diverse and inclusive membership.  Other boards, like San Diego Computer Using Educators, and the AnitaB.org community leadership benefit from Valeri’s expertise.

She earned a Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University and a Master’s degree in Data Analytics from Graziadio Business School.  From San Diego State University, she earned a Master’s in Educational Technology and her Bachelor of Science in Health Science.
