ANSYS STK for Space Mission Design: A Hands-on Tutorial Workshop
This two-day tutorial workshop provides an introduction to space mission modelling and analysis using ANSYS Systems Tool Kit (STK), a widely used platform for simulating and evaluating complex space systems. The workshop is designed to familiarize participants with the capabilities of STK through a combination of conceptual discussions and practical demonstrations.
Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of modelling satellites and space systems, including orbit visualization, access analysis, and interactions between satellites and ground stations. The workshop will also cover tools for designing and analyzing satellite constellations, performing coverage studies, and exploring different mission scenarios. In addition, participants will gain exposure to more advanced capabilities such as modelling the space environment, using high-fidelity propagators for mission analysis, and planning spacecraft maneuvers.
The workshop will also highlight how STK can be extended through automation and scripting to support customized analysis and larger simulation workflows. Overall, the tutorial aims to provide students and researchers with a practical understanding of how STK is used in space mission design, analysis, and research applications.
