WIE-Connect
WIE Connect is an engaging initiative organized by the IEEE Women in Engineering Affinity Group of the IEEE Student Branch MCET, designed to create a supportive and inspiring platform for students to explore opportunities in technology and professional development.
The event brings together technical and non-technical perspectives through a professional technical talk, interactive discussions, and networking activities. A key highlight of the program is a discussion on women’s experiences in STEM fields, where speakers and participants share real-world insights about their academic and professional journeys, challenges faced, and strategies to navigate and thrive in the technology industry.
The session also focuses on understanding industry expectations, career pathways, and emerging opportunities in engineering and technology. In addition, an open “Midnight Freedom” style conversation segment encourages participants to freely express ideas, experiences, and perspectives in an informal and inclusive environment, strengthening peer connections and mentorship.
By blending technical knowledge, career awareness, and meaningful networking, WIE Connect aims to empower students—particularly women in engineering—to build confidence, broaden their professional outlook, and develop a strong community within the STEM ecosystem.
