Please join the Central Tennessee IEEE for an exciting professional development opportunity from Western Kentucky University's Continuing & Professional Development group.  Please note that this is a 4-hour event and once again we are not in our normal location.

"UNDERSTANDING GENERATIONS"

Today’s workforce spans multiple generations, each bringing unique experiences, perspectives, and expectations. This interactive and collaborative workshop explores how generational differences influence communication, motivation, and teamwork, while providing practical strategies to reduce misunderstandings and foster a more inclusive workplace. Participants will leave with actionable ideas to strengthen collaboration, improve engagement, and leverage generational diversity as a workplace strength.

Learning Outcomes:
• Identify key characteristics and communication preferences across workplace generations
• Recognize how generational perspectives influence communication, teamwork, and expectations
• Apply practical strategies to communicate effectively and reduce misunderstandings across generations
• Use generational awareness to strengthen collaboration, engagement, and workplace relationships

Registration and refreshments will begin at 8:00, with lunch provided afterward.  This location is capacity-limited, so please sign up early to ensure your spot!

John Gregory of Western Kentucky University, Continuing & Professional Development

Biography:

John Gregory brings 16+ years of experience within the manufacturing industry as well as a couple of years in the construction field.  He has served in multiple management roles in the areas of Human Resources, Training & Development, Environmental, Health & Safety and Risk Management.  John has also recently started a small business for teaching, training, and coaching with the mission of building up people so they can in turn help build up others.  His primary passion is leadership and employee development as he works to help others live with purpose and increase their influence.
John finds a lot of excitement and enjoyment in working as a trainer with the WKU Career and Workforce Development Team.  As a believer in the power of positive influence, John hopes to bring a sense of engagement and energy to each training class so that every participant leaves feeling valued and better equipped in their roles.  His areas of interest include assessing personality styles and how they best fit into work teams and developing leaders that will pour into their people.  As a certified Maxwell Leadership Team Member, he truly believes that “leadership is influence”.  John also finds motivation in creating & delivering training content based on trending organizational needs.
In his free time, John spends time with his five kids and his wife, Stephanie.  You will likely find him at his kids’ sporting events either coaching them or cheering them on.  John is a graduate of WKU with a degree in Human Resource Management.
