The IEEE Student Branch, Career Point University, in collaboration with the School of Basic and Applied Sciences and School of Education, is organizing a Workshop on Plant Tissue Culture Techniques on 28 March 2026 in hybrid mode.

This workshop is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of plant tissue culture through a blend of theoretical sessions and practical demonstrations. Key topics include aseptic techniques, preparation of Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium, sterilization methods, and handling of plant explants under controlled laboratory conditions.

The session will also cover the applications of tissue culture in agriculture, horticulture, conservation, and biotechnology industries, emphasizing its role in rapid plant propagation, disease-free plant production, and genetic improvement.

The workshop will be conducted by Dr. Gunnjeet Kaur, Dean & Associate Professor, School of Agricultural Sciences, CPU, who brings expertise in molecular biology and biotechnology.

This event aims to enhance participants’ practical skills, promote interdisciplinary learning, and create awareness about research and career opportunities in biotechnology and related fields. It also serves as a platform to highlight IEEE’s role in fostering innovation and technical advancement across diverse domains.
