OG&E Site Visit
Wichita State University IEEE student branch is thrilled to partner with Oklahoma Gas and Electric (OG&E) for a day of touring and learning at their Technology Center and Training Sub sites. Transportation will be provided from WSU. Due to security clearance reasons, self transportation options are not allowed.
The full schedule of the site visit is as follows:
- 7:30 am - 10:00 am - Bus leaves from WSU to reach OG&E North District Tech Center
- 10:00 am - 11:30 am - Tour of Battery Energy Storage System (by Hermes Arevalo)
- 11:30 am - 12:30 pm - Lunch, recruiting team providing lunch and speaking to students about internship and job opportunities at OG&E (Tech Center Conference Room)
- 12:30 pm - 1:00 pm - Travel from North District to OG&E Training Sub
- 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm - Tour of Training Substation (by Ryan Einer)
- 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm - Bus leaves from OG&E Training Substation to reach WSU

Hermes leads OG&E's EV and DER Planning Department, coordinating with various groups to prepare for new technology integration. Since joining OG&E in 2001 after graduating from the University of Oklahoma, he has worked in distribution design, planning, and transmission operations. Hermes is a Registered Professional Engineer.
