This paper presents a compact, single-path-footprint Doherty PA with minimized passive network areas. A systematic analysis for its realization is developed based on the proposed theory of reciprocal Doherty networks employing a single transformer. Implemented with only three transformer footprints and a single driver, the design occupies a core area of 0.12mm2, comparable to that of a linear PA, while supporting wideband, high-order QAM OFDM signals with high average efficiency.
