IEEE Benelux YP
Student branch meetup
Many student branches joined the WhatsApp group. A Doodle poll will be sent to gauge availability for an in-person meetup — likely late April or June (avoiding Martijn's early May travel and June exams).
Region 8 ISY-BKCO — Krakow, Poland (20–24 July)
Funded registrations are open for 18 more days for students and young professionals. Region 8 covers the participation fee; the section typically covers travel. Student branch chairs are encouraged to apply. Endorsement letters available from Martijn.
Brussels student branch
Six people started the branch but only three have IEEE membership. Further emails being sent to resolve this. No immediate action needed from the group.
Yeastist 12 competition — low participation
Very few responses received despite social media outreach. Key reasons identified: small following, online-only format feels less rewarding, high workload to participate, and student branches may not relay posts. An in-person hackathon format was suggested as more appealing.
Chapter road show — closed
The idea to host monthly speaker events across the BeLux section was dropped after the originating chapter chairs withdrew support.
Financial update
Total balance: ~€7,290. A transfer of €4,800 (sustainable IoT & EM innovation grant) was received on 17 March, plus €130 from the BeLux section. Financial status will now be a standing agenda item.
Microcontroller workshop (Rushali)
Rushali traveling to India until 12 April to discuss the program with her supervisor and finalize hardware kit pricing. Payment process: invoice to Gregory → bank transfer (INR). Kit quantity to be decided once price is known.
