About RF Technologies for Satellite Payloads
Biography:
Worked
on the development of RF subsystems for microwave remote sensing payloads namely Ku band Scatterometer payload of Oceansat II, C band SAR payload of RISAT, C band airborne SAR for DMSP projects Worked on MIC, MMIC, LTCC and waveguide based receiver and frequency generator systems for the microwave sensors Successfully designed active as well as passive circuits viz amplifiers, oscillators, filters, multipliers, hybrids etc from UHF to millimeter wave.
As Project Coordinator and lead designer for MiniSAR developed a highly miniaturized 5 kg Synthetic Aperture Imaging Radar ( for airborne/UAV applications.
As Associate Project Director successfully delivered GSAT 29 GSAT 29 has five payloads viz Multi beam, high throughput ( Ka band and Ku band communication payloads ISROs first millimeter wave viz Q /V band communication payload, Optical communication terminal, and Geo High resolution Camera with RF data link It was launched on 14 th November 2018
Currently, working as Head Amplifier Division Have designed a large number of RF subsystems and SSPA s (solid state power amplifiers) for communication and navigation satellites viz GSAT 11 GSAT 20 GSAT 24 GSAT 29 GSAT 30 GSAT 31 GSAT 6 A, GSAT 12 R GISAT 1 and GISAT 2 and IRNSS/NVS series of satellites Have also developed various GaAs and GaN based MMIC based RF circuits from S band to Q/V band being used in ongoing and upcoming programs
A key pioneer in development GaN based CW High power SSPAs for space Designed ISROs first CW GaN SSPA at UHF and S band which has successfully flown on CMS 03 Also developed GaN SSPA at S and Ka band for upcoming Gaganyaan and IDRSS missions
Address:SAC, ISRO, , Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India
