HUMANITECH 1.0

Humanitech 1.0 is an ideathon organized by  IEEE SIGHT ISIMS SB and IEEE SIGHT ISIMM SB, under the IEEE SIGHT Tunisia Section. The event took place at ISIMM, Monastir, on April 11, 2026,  bringing together students and innovators passionate about sustainability, technology, and humanitarian impact. This ideathon focuses on Climate Action and Environmental Protection, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and aims to encourage participants to develop innovative and sustainable solutions to real-world environmental challenges.

The program includes team-building activities that enhance collaboration, communication, and leadership skills, followed by a panel discussion on environmental issues and sustainable innovation, led by the panelists Rima Fathallah, Mohamed Yasser Bdioui, and Ahmed Ghedira. In this panel, speakers highlighted the role of IEEE and IEEE SIGHT in humanitarian initiatives, focusing on environmental challenges, vulnerable communities, and how technology can bridge these gaps through sustainable and scalable solutions. The event then continues with a technical working session led by Ahmed Ghedira, where participants collaborate on developing their solutions. It concludes with a pitching competition and closing ceremony, where teams present their ideas and winners are announced based on innovation, feasibility, and impact.

The Impact of Humanitech :

Main Objective : Humanitech 1.0 aims to encourage participants to design technology-driven solutions that address environmental challenges. It bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications by promoting innovative, practical, and sustainable ideas. The event also fosters collaboration, networking, and knowledge exchange among students, mentors, and the IEEE community.

Target Audience : The target audience for Humanitech 1.0 includes IEEE student members and students passionate about sustainability, environmental issues, and innovation. It is ideal for aspiring engineers, developers, and innovators who aim to work on real-world challenges, collaborate on impactful solutions, and gain hands-on experience while expanding their network.

While visitors gain insights, develop skills, and engage in discussions through interactive sessions and panels, while networking and enjoying a dynamic and collaborative environment.

 Mrs. Rima Fathallahis currently serving as Project Coordinator at IEEE SIGHT Tunisia Section and previously held the position of Vice Chair, contributing actively to the development and management of humanitarian and impactful initiatives.

Ahmed Ghedira

Mr. Ahmed Ghedira is the founder and former leader of Notre Grand Bleu (NGB), actively contributing to environmental initiatives and raising awareness on sustainability and marine conservation.
