IEEE UK & Ireland SSIT Lecture Programme

Advances in human activity and behavior computing (ABC) using video, skeleton, and IoT sensors are transforming healthcare. My work has addressed gait analysis, autism assessment, rehabilitation, and nursing activity analysis through vision-based methods, complemented by multimodal sensor fusion. Building on these, my current research is extending to two pressing challenges: Parkinson’s disease monitoring and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) analysis. This talk will highlight recent achievements in vision-based ABC and outline future directions where computer vision and AI, together with IoT sensing, can drive breakthroughs in remote monitoring, rehabilitation, and healthcare innovation.
