Workshop Human-Robot Artistic Collaboration in MUSIC4D
Artificial Intelligence that captures and generates artistic behaviors and emotions in musical environments and beyond
Human-Robot collaboration (HRC) is becoming pervasive, not only in environments where robots have been already present at work since long time like the manufacturing sector, now renamed Smart Factory, but particularly in those domains where humans have been so far the only “actors” like sports, hospitality, healthcare, and, last but not least, music, particularly classical music. It is just in this last domain, the classical music domain, that the last frontier of the AI-driven humanoid robotics could lie. Benefits could be huge: from the co-direction of orchestras for complex innovative musical texts to the collaboration between human musicians and robot musicians to the capture and reproduction of emotional and artistic behaviors, also in the Metaverse.
The MUSIC4D project funded by the Italian government (INTAFAM 00039 MUSIC4D) has the goal to fulfil this ambition by purposely merging AI-driven robotics with classical music to deliver innovative environments where humans and robots co-exist, collaborate, control, and cooperate, via multi-agent complex patterns and embodied intelligence.
