Engineering Communication Mastery for Undergraduates and Graduate Students
Across two highly interactive 3-hour sessions, Engineering undergraduates will learn how to structure and deliver effective presentations, handle Q&A confidently, write a professional BIO and practice humanizing AI-generated texts. This two-part workshop series equips ISEE undergraduate students with essential communication and professional skills, fostering key soft skills, such as self-confidence, active listening, critical thinking and teamwork. By the end, students will be able to present effectively, write responsibly in the AI Era and develop the soft skills necessary for their professional and academic careers.

Joanne Spataro
Biography:
Joanne Spataro is a Senior Language Instructor at the University of Pisa, with over 30 years of experience in teaching English for Research Publication and Presentation Purposes (ERPP) to PhD candidates across a wide range of academic disciplines. She specializes in training researchers, clinicians, and academics to write high-quality scientific papers and deliver clear, effective research presentations for international audiences. She has extensive teaching experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and continuing professional development levels, including courses in Academic Writing (EAP) and Patient-oriented Communication Skills for medical students, residents, and nurses. Joanne is also recognized for her expertise in curriculum design, teacher training, and the application of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) methodology. Her work supports the development of advanced academic literacy and the effective dissemination of research in international scientific contexts.
