IEEE WIE Hamilton STEAM Drawing Competition 2026
The IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) – Hamilton Section presents the STEAM Drawing Competition, an online event that integrates creativity with engineering and technology concepts.
Technology powers the world around us, transforming ideas into real-world solutions. This activity promotes understanding of technology applications through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) exploration, encouraging children and youth to creatively express how technology shapes our world and enhances everyday life.
Register and submit your artwork using the online form provided below. A Google sign-in is required to access the form. Submissions should be completed by a parent or guardian.

Competition Theme: Technology Shaping Our World
Choose ONE topic and create your drawing
(Examples provided, original ideas are welcome within the selected topic).
1. Smart Space Technology - rockets, satellites, space travel
2. Healthcare Technology - robotic surgery, wearable devices, telemedicine
3. Green Technology - solar energy, wind power, electric vehicles
This competition is open to children and youth aged 3–17 years. Participants will be grouped into the following age groups:
◆ 3–6 years
◆ 7–12 years
◆ 13–17 years
Prizes & Recognition
◆ Winners - Each Age Group: $50 Amazon eGift Card and Certificate of Achievement
◆ Special Prizes - Selected Drawings: $10 Tim Hortons eGift Cards
◆ All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.
Submission Guidelines and Rules
1. Only manual drawing media may be used (pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, pastels, or paints).
2. Artwork must be the participant’s original work.
3. One entry per participant.
4. Multiple participants from the same family are welcome; submit a separate form for each participant.
5. Artwork must align with the theme within the selected topic.
6. Artwork must be submitted as a clear photo or scanned image in JPG, PNG, or PDF format.
7. Submission must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.
8. Selected artworks may be displayed or published online (first name only).
9. Entries will be evaluated by a judging panel; the judges’ decision is final.
