Abstract:
How do you decide what to learn next when you’re just getting started in tech?
In this talk, we’ll explore simple and relatable signals that it might be time to try a new technology, like when your app needs to handle many users at the same time, or when things start breaking in unexpected ways.
We’ll introduce Elixir as a tool that makes it easier to build reliable and scalable systems, especially for things like chat apps, live updates, and systems that need to stay online.
No prior experience with Elixir (or advanced concepts) is needed, just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
