Biography:
Jill Gostin, 2026 IEEE President-Elect, is a Principal Research Scientist Emeritus at the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI).
Her work focused on sensor systems and software. She also served as the systems engineering, integration, and test lead in the software engineering and architecture division. Her publications, service and technical awards, large program management, and leadership of groups including industry, government, and academia have contributed to her career success.
She has served IEEE extensively, including three years on the IEEE Board of Directors, as 2023 IEEE Vice President of Member and Geographic Activities and 2020-2021 Region 3 Director. She is a former chair of the IEEE Atlanta Section and the IEEE Computer Society’s Atlanta Chapter. Gostin served on the IEEE Computer and IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems societies’ boards of governors and was the vice president of finance for the Sensor Council’s Executive Committee. She has also led or been a member of several IEEE organizational units and committees, locally and globally.
Her leadership has been recognized by being named 2016 Woman of the Year by Georgia Women in Technology and receiving the 2025 IEEE Women in Technology & Leadership Award.

Russell Harrison serves as Managing Director of the IEEE-USA, the American component of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, and Director of Global Policy for IEEE.
Russell has over 20 years of experience working in Washington, D.C. representing America’s technology community. His global team of policy experts works to help governments enact technically sound public policies while encouraging innovation and societal improvement. Beyond public policy, IEEE-USA specializes in innovative collaborations within America’s technology community, especially bringing innovators in smaller communities together to maximize their innovative capacity.
The AI Career Playbook: Where to Start, What to Learn, and How to Grow
Biography:
Phane Mane is the Global Chairman of the B2B AI Council and led AI product delivery at Boston Scientific and is based in the Boston area.
Phane brings over two decades of experience across digital commerce, enterprise architecture, and AI product delivery. His career spans North America, EMEA, APAC, and Latin America, with leadership roles in both public and private sector initiatives.
He is best known for leading the greenfield architecture and implementation of Boston Scientific’s global B2B eCommerce platform. The platform was deployed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring continued access to critical medical products when traditional sales channels were under significant pressure. It stands as a model of resilient and scalable digital infrastructure at enterprise level.
Looking Inside AI Language Models: Inspecting and Steering AI as It Runs
Biography:
Dr. Ching-Yun (Irene) Ko is a Staff Research Scientis at IBM Research. Her research focuses primarily on trustworthy machine learning. Her research focuses on trustworthy machine learning and large language models, particularly model safety, alignment, and robustness across training-time and runtime interventions.
Dr. Ko received her Ph.D. in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA, in 2024.
Dr. Ko has published papers in esteemed AI/ML conferences, including ICML, NeurIPS, ICLR, IROS, IJCAI, and AAAI, where she has given talks and often served as a program committee member or a reviewer. Her research also extends to efficient scientific computing, in which she has authored papers in renowned journals and conferences such as Automatica, IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, and IEEE Conference on Decision and Control.

Biography:
Abir Chermiti is a strategic industry engagement leader at IEEE, advancing global initiatives at the intersection of artificial intelligence, industry collaboration, workforce transformation, and professional development.
She is deeply engaged in IEEE’s AI-focused efforts, including initiatives that explore how AI can support career development, applied learning, industry engagement, and responsible innovation. Her work includes helping shape programs such as IEEE Industry AI Labs and AI-enabled career tools that connect IEEE members, young professionals, students, volunteers, and industry leaders with practical opportunities to learn, build, and collaborate around emerging technologies.
Abir is passionate about making AI more accessible, useful, and relevant for professionals navigating the future of work.
