Workshop on Large Language Models (LLM) and Agentic Systems in EdgeAI
The Workshop on Large Language Models (LLM) and Agentic Systems in EdgeAI introduces participants to the rapidly evolving world of intelligent, autonomous AI systems designed for real‑time decision‑making at the edge. This session explores how modern LLMs power natural‑language understanding, reasoning, and task automation, and how agentic architectures enable AI systems to act, plan, and collaborate with minimal human intervention. Participants will learn how EdgeAI brings these capabilities closer to sensors and devices, reducing latency and enabling faster, privacy‑preserving computation. The workshop covers core concepts, practical demonstrations, and emerging applications across engineering, healthcare, smart cities, and industry. By the end of the session, learners will understand how LLM‑driven agents can transform edge devices into intelligent collaborators capable of perception, analysis, and autonomous action. This workshop is ideal for students, faculty, and professionals eager to explore the future of AI‑enabled systems.

Amrit Kumar of Newcastle University
Workshop on Large Language Models (LLM) and Agentic Systems in EdgeAI
Biography:
Amrit Kumar is a Research Engineer at Newcastle University, where he is part of the EPSRC-funded National EdgeAI Hub — a UK-wide consortium tackling the most pressing challenges in edge computing, cybersecurity, and real-time AI performance. His work focuses on deploying and validating AI models on resource-constrained edge devices, with particular expertise in system design and optimising large language models and foundation models for NVIDIA Jetson Orin, raspberry pi and ARM-based platforms.
With a background spanning both industry and academia, Amrit brings a combination of engineering rigour and research depth to the edge AI space. His research spans critical application domains including healthcare, transport, and energy, where the stakes of real-time AI performance are highest. Beyond the technical work, Amrit is a strong advocate for bridging the gap between cutting-edge research and practical, real-world deployment — a philosophy reflected in his collaborative work with academic institutions and industry partners across the UK.
