WIE Week 2026 – "Empower, Innovate, Inspire"
UPES IEEE WIE Chapter presents WIE Week 2026, a seven-day event designed to foster creativity, technical skills, and intellectual engagement among students. The week features a diverse set of activities, including a Reel/Poster Competition, Treasure Hunt, three-day Hackathon, Debate Session, and a WIE-Inspire Speaker Session.
Event Schedule Overview:
Day 1 – Creative & Social Media Competitions
Theme: Women in Tech
This event encourages participants to creatively represent the role and impact of women in the field of technology through reels or poster designs. It aims to promote awareness, innovation, and digital expression while enhancing outreach through social platforms.
• Submissions will be accepted via Instagram or Google Drive
• Entries will be evaluated based on creativity, relevance, and presentation quality
• The event also contributes to increasing digital engagement and visibility
Day 2 – Treasure Hunt
Structure: 5 Rounds (Riddles, Image-Based Puzzles, Morse Code, Jumbled Words, Social Media-Based Clues)
This event is designed to test participants’ logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities through a series of interconnected challenges.
Gameplay:
• Participants will register individually
• Clues will be distributed across multiple formats, including:
– Google Forms
– Instagram posts
– Hidden text within posters
– College website pages
– QR codes
– Answers derived from previous puzzles
• Each clue leads to the next stage, forming a continuous sequence
• The first participant to successfully solve all stages and reach the final clue will be declared the winner
Day 3, 4, and 5 – Hackathon (Three-Day Event)
This event provides a platform for participants to demonstrate technical expertise, innovation, and teamwork through multiple evaluation rounds.
Day 3 – Round 1: Debugging Battle
• Participants will be provided with code snippets containing errors
• The objective is to identify and correct errors within a limited time
• Evaluation will focus on speed, accuracy, and problem-solving approach
Day 4 – Round 2: Idea Submission
• Participants will propose innovative project ideas addressing real-world challenges
• Submissions will be assessed based on originality, feasibility, clarity, and relevance
Day 5 – Round 3: Presentation and Demonstration
• Teams will present their solutions or developed prototypes
• Evaluation criteria include implementation, clarity, innovation, and potential impact
• Participants may also be assessed on their ability to respond to questions and justify their approach
Day 6 – Debate Session
This session aims to encourage critical thinking, structured argumentation, and effective communication among participants.
Topics include:
• Artificial Intelligence replacing human roles
• Traditional learning versus digital learning methods
Participants will engage in moderated discussions, presenting arguments and counterarguments in a formal setting.
Day 7 – Speaker Session
“WIE-Inspire” Talk (TED-style)
This session will feature a distinguished alumna who will share insights from her professional journey. The talk will focus on career development, challenges faced in the industry, and key lessons that can inspire and guide students in their own paths.
The event is open to all students, with an expected participation of 150–300 attendees. Participation certificates will be provided to all registered participants.
