" Engineering Outcomes: Robotics and Advanced Manufacturing at NBRR"
IEEE Aerospace & Electronics Systems Society (AESS) and co-sponsoring Robotics and Automation Society
Speaker: Mark Parsons, Founder & Executive Director of New Bedford Research and Robotics
This presentation outlines the capabilities and impact of New Bedford Research & Robotics (NBRR), a technology hub focused on bridging the gap between frontier innovation and regional economic development. New Bedford Research & Robotics (NBRR) serves as a specialized center for providing access to frontier technologies to drive entrepreneurial and social impact. Located on New Bedford's "Innovation Avenue" proximal to a $2B industrial port, NBRR operates a 33,000 SF facility dedicated to entrepreneurship, research, education, and corporate engagement. This presentation examines NBRR’s multimodal robotics and prototyping capabilities, including: • Additive Manufacturing, Robotic Forming, Material Manipulation(s) • Advanced Robotics & AI: Integrating collaborative robotics (Cobotics), non-linear industrial robotics, embodied AI • Marine Robotics and Shared Data: The Harbor-to-Bay Digital Twin, dynamic data, and various Marine Robotics platforms from ROVs to ASVs. By fostering collaborations with global industry leaders in aerospace and manufacturing, while addressing opportunities of the emerging blue tech markets, NBRR is demonstrating how
