Integrating IEEE member benefits and world-class research with UdeG’s institutional support to empower our professional journey in engineering.

I. Event Description
As IEEE Members, we understand that academic excellence and professional development require access to the world's most advanced sources of technical information. Therefore, we have designed this in-person workshop to show you how to utilize the tools that IEEE makes available to its members, complemented by the resources that the University of Guadalajara provides to its students regarding IEEE content.

Through this strategic alliance, we will have an expert speaker from the UdeG Library Network, who will guide us in leveraging the licenses, subscriptions, and "extras" contracted by the institution. The goal is for students to learn how to navigate the frontier of technical knowledge, integrating the global benefits of IEEE membership with the institutional access infrastructure of our university.

II. Workshop Activities

  •  The IEEE Member Ecosystem: Exploration of exclusive tools that IEEE provides to its members (personalized alerts and collaboration networks), learning how to integrate them into the academic workflow.
  • Mastering the IEEE Xplore Digital Library: Intensive navigation practice to locate high-impact journal articles, conference proceedings, and technical standards.
  •  The UdeG Access Route: A step-by-step session to link your student profile with the Library Network's institutional access, unlocking the premium content contracted by the university.
  • Resource Optimization with Library Network "Extras": Use of complementary tools offered by UdeG (bibliographic managers and supporting databases) to organize and cite findings obtained from IEEE.

    III. Objectives
  • Integration of Benefits: To train students in the joint use of IEEE tools and the digital services of the UdeG Library Network.
  • Research Efficiency: To bridge the gap between students and scientific information, enabling fast and precise searches for theses and projects.
  • Institutional Utilization: To encourage the full use of the licenses and resources that UdeG makes available to the student community, removing access barriers.
