Tech Talk: Designing Production-Ready, Robust and Redundant Systems
Event Title: Tech Talk: Designing Production-Ready, Robust and Redundant Systems
Organized by: Işık University IEEE Computer Society Student Branch
Date & Time: Friday, May 7st at 16:00 (GMT+3)
Event Format: In-person
Language: Turkish
Welcome to an exclusive technical session hosted by the Işık IEEE Computer Society! Transitioning from academic coding to enterprise-level software engineering requires a shift in mindset. A project is not finished just because the code runs locally. In the industry, systems must be "Production-Ready"—capable of handling high traffic, unexpected errors, and hardware failures without crashing.
In this comprehensive session, industry expert Hüseyin Şimşek will guide us through the core principles of robust system architecture. We will explore High Availability (HA), fault tolerance, and how to build redundant infrastructures that ensure continuous service even during crisis scenarios.
Whether you are aiming for a career in software engineering, backend development, or DevOps, this event will equip you with the vision to design and deploy systems that meet rigorous enterprise standards.

Hüseyin Şimşek
Production-Ready Systems & Redundancy
Biography:
Hüseyin Şimşek is currently the Head of Software Development at Obase and a Part-time Lecturer at Boğaziçi University, where he has been teaching for over 14 years. With a robust background in enterprise software architecture, he has held key leadership positions including Enterprise Software Architect at Kuveyt Türk, Head of Software Engineering at Felixo Exchange, and Director of Software Development at Akfel Holding.
His core technical expertise spans backend engineering (.NET Core, C#), microservices, message brokers (Apache Kafka), cloud native development, and DevOps practices (Azure, Kubernetes, Docker). Bridging the gap between industry and academia, he holds a B.S. and M.S. from Boğaziçi University and continues his Ph.D. studies in Informatics at Marmara
