The talk will cover the key components of an autonomous drone platform, multi-drone Ground Control Station (GCS), and KML-based autonomous mission planning, etc. Specifically, it will cover case studies across several application domains: autonomous disaster response with onboard human detection and payload dropping, AI-driven infrastructure anomaly monitoring, plantation monitoring using drone imagery and LiDAR point cloud analysis, real-time surveillance, and Land Use Land Cover (LULC) classification, etc.

Biography:

Dr. Asif Iqbal Middya is an Indian computer scientist, academic, and entrepreneur who serves as Co‑Founder and Director of JUSense Technology Pvt. Ltd., a company focused on AI‑powered urban sensing and drone‑based applications. He is also an Assistant Professor at the Future Institute of Engineering and Management in Kolkata and a Ph.D. Research Fellow at Jadavpur University, where his research spans AI for Social Good, IoT‑Cloud systems, geoinformatics, and climate change modeling. With more than 1,200 citations and notable publications on smart city sensing frameworks, air quality forecasting, and deep learning‑based pothole detection, Dr. Middya has established himself as a leading researcher in participatory sensing and intelligent urban systems. He has also qualified prestigious national exams including UGC NET‑JRF, SET, and GATE, and actively contributes as a reviewer for IEEE journals, bridging academic excellence with practical innovation in technology.
