Wearable Antenna for Wi-Fi and 5-G Applications
Wearable antenna technology is an emerging field that combines wireless communication, flexible electronics, and smart wearable systems. With the rapid growth of Wi-Fi, 5G, and IoT technologies, wearable antennas are becoming essential for devices such as smart watches, healthcare monitors, fitness trackers, smart textiles, and body-centric communication systems.
This lecture will focus on the design and development of compact, lightweight, and flexible antennas that can operate efficiently while being worn on the human body. Unlike conventional antennas, wearable antennas must maintain stable performance under bending, stretching, and body movement conditions while ensuring user safety and communication reliability.
The session will cover key topics including flexible and textile-based antenna materials, multiband antenna design, integration of antennas into wearable devices, and challenges such as signal loss, impedance matching, and radiation efficiency. Special emphasis will also be given to the role of wearable antennas in enabling high-speed and low-latency communication for next-generation Wi-Fi and 5G applications.
Participants will gain valuable insights into modern antenna technologies, practical design challenges, and future research opportunities in wireless communication and RF engineering.
