Learnings from career of an accomplished IEEE senior member - Nathan Edwards
As an accomplished scientist and engineer with a passion for mentoring others in technology careers, Mr. Nathan Edwards (IEEE Senior Member) will present on the adventures of his 19-year technology career journey. Nathan will talk about the impact of faith, family, community and mentorship in his career with the hope to inspire, encourage, and engage attendees as part of our IEEE community. The presentation will hopefully capture the attention of audiences within IEEE student members, those in active careers, and Lifetime members.
Mr. Nathan Edwards is the founder and CEO of Rapid Innovation & Security Experts, Inc. and has over 19 years as a career engineer and scientist in the electronics sector. Much of his work has been on national-level R&D related to electronics systems, supply chains, and security. His efforts have led to a number of innovations, patents, and diverse set of science publications in electronics, cybersecurity, supply chain, nanotechnology, aerosol sensor science, and workforce development. Nathan has served on advisory panels to the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine. His career includes the roles of Executive Director of U.S. Partnership for Assured Electronics, Innovation Hub Lead at The MITRE Corporation, Senior Staff at Sandia National Laboratories, Boeing Integrated Defense Systems, Medtronic, and others. Nathan also has a prior career in public service as a firefighter and paramedic. He has a MS degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, BS in Computer Systems Engineering from Arizona State University, and an AS in Fire Science from University of Alaska Anchorage.
