IEEE GMU Student Branch Members,

We are pleased to invite you to a trip to the National Cryptologic Museum in Fort Meade, Maryland, on Friday, May 29. This event is co-organized by the Center for Trusted, Accelerated, and Secure Computing and Communication (C-TASC) and the GMU IEEE Student Branch.

The trip is planned as a social and educational event for members of C-TASC and the GMU IEEE Student Branch. We hope it will be a great opportunity for students, faculty, and IEEE members to connect with each other while exploring an exciting museum related to cryptology, cybersecurity, intelligence, and secure communications.

The main part of the trip will be a guided tour of the National Cryptologic Museum. Participants may choose one of the following two tour time slots:

Group 1: 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
Group 2: 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM

In addition, a joint lunch for attendees from both groups will be held approximately between 12:30 PM and 1:30 PM. Lunch will be sponsored by the GMU IEEE Student Branch. Participation in lunch is optional, and more details will be shared after we have a clearer estimate of the number of attendees.

Museum address:
National Cryptologic Museum
8290 Colony Seven Road
Annapolis Junction, MD 20701

Museum admission is free, and visitors may enter the museum without a ticket between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM. If you arrive early or would like to stay after the guided tour, you are welcome to explore the exhibits and gift shop on your own.

Transportation will be arranged mainly through carpooling to offer flexibility and reduce costs. A ride from GMU to the museum may take around 50 minutes to 1 hour and 25 minutes, depending on traffic and the selected route. Leaving about 1 hour and 30 minutes before the activity you plan to attend first, either the museum tour or lunch, is recommended.

You can learn more about the museum here:

Please complete the registration form as soon as possible, but no later than Tuesday, May 26, at 12:00 PM.

Please note that the number of attendees for each guided tour is limited. If both time slots reach capacity, we will ask the museum whether additional tour guides are available, but this cannot be guaranteed at this time. Confirmations for guaranteed attendance will be sent on Tuesday afternoon, and additional updates will be shared after we hear back from the museum staff.

We hope you can join us for this event!
