IEEE FWCS PES/IAS Seminar: Fundamentals of Electrical Machines, Drive, and Motor Controls
This seminar provides an overview of the AC and DC machines and the types of controllers utilized for both motors and generators, based on the textbook “Electrical Machines, Drives and Power Systems” and the USF EMD class materials. There will be a live demonstration of the AC/DC motor generator model at the seminar to demonstrate key concepts of the training.

Tom Blair
Biography:
Tom Blair is a Senior Engineering Fellow with Tampa Electric. He performs electrical system analysis at TEC. Tom has also been adjunct professor in the past at the University of South Florida and has presented courses at the university on topics such as Electrical Machines and Drives, Energy Production Systems Engineering, and most recently, Power System Protection. Tom Blair is a Senior Member of IEEE.
