The IEEE Rwanda Subsection Launch & Societies Engagement Forum is the official public activation of the first IEEE geographic unit ever established in Rwanda. Taking place on 4 July 2026 in Kigali, this full-day multi-society event will bring together approximately 200 engineers, students, faculty, industry representatives, and government officials from Rwanda and the broader East African region.

The programme includes: an official Launch Ceremony; an IEEE Societies & Affinity Groups Introduction Panel; parallel technical workshops delivered by IES, GRSS, MTT-S, COMSOC, and other Societies; a dedicated IEEE Humanitarian Technologies plenary session; an Industry & Academia Engagement plenary; a Student Branch Leadership Workshop serving seven Rwandan universities; a Joint Closing Ceremony; and a Networking Gala Dinner in the evening.

The event is free to attend and open to all IEEE members and the wider engineering community. It simultaneously serves as the formal activation of all the IEEE societies, chapters, SBCs and SBs within Rwanda
