The IEEE Student Branch is organizing the IEEE Student Membership Awareness and Orientation Session 2026 to introduce students to the benefits and opportunities available through IEEE membership.
This session aims to motivate students toward innovation, technical learning, research activities, professional networking, and leadership development through active participation in IEEE. Participants will gain insights into IEEE societies, conferences, workshops, scholarships, competitions, volunteering opportunities, and global professional communities.
The session will also provide guidance on the IEEE membership registration process and explain how students can actively engage in IEEE Student Branch activities at local and international levels.

Benefits of IEEE Membership for Students
This lecture will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the advantages and opportunities offered through IEEE membership. The session aims to introduce participants to the world’s largest professional technical organization and explain how IEEE supports academic excellence, innovation, research, leadership, and career development.
The lecture will highlight the various benefits available to IEEE student members, including access to IEEE Xplore Digital Library, participation in international conferences, workshops, technical competitions, networking with global professionals and researchers, scholarships, volunteering opportunities, and leadership development programs.
Students will also learn how IEEE membership can enhance technical knowledge, improve communication and professional skills, and create opportunities for research collaborations and career advancement in emerging technologies.
The session will further guide participants on how to actively engage in IEEE Student Branch activities and maximize the value of their membership for personal and professional growth.
Biography:
Dr. Shekhar Pundir is serving as Dean Academics at Dewan VS Institute of Engineering & Technology. He has extensive experience in engineering education, academic administration, and student mentoring. His areas of interest include emerging technologies, technical education, research, innovation, and professional development. He has actively contributed to organizing academic programs, faculty development initiatives, workshops, and IEEE-related activities aimed at enhancing students’ technical and professional skills. Dr. Shekhar Pundir has published more than 25 research papers in SCI/Scopus-indexed journals, in IEEE conferences, Springer, Elsevier, and other reputed international journals. His research contributions mainly focus on intelligent communication systems, AI-enabled IoT frameworks, smart wireless networks, and next-generation communication technologies. He has also contributed to patents and registered industrial designs in emerging technological domains.

This session will introduce students to the wide range of opportunities and activities available through IEEE Student Membership and IEEE Student Branch participation. The lecture aims to encourage students to actively engage in technical, professional, and leadership activities that contribute to their overall academic and career growth.
Participants will learn about various IEEE platforms that support innovation, research, skill development, networking, volunteering, and professional collaboration at both national and international levels. The session will also highlight how students can participate in IEEE conferences, workshops, hackathons, technical competitions, project exhibitions, webinars, and community activities.
The lecture will further explain the role of IEEE societies, technical chapters, and student branches in promoting emerging technologies, interdisciplinary learning, and global collaboration. Students will gain insights into how IEEE activities can help build leadership qualities, communication skills, teamwork, and professional confidence.
The session will motivate students to become active contributors to IEEE initiatives and utilize IEEE opportunities for research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and career advancement.
Biography:
Ms. Pritibha Sukhroop is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Dewan VS Institute of Engineering & Technology (DVSIET), Meerut. She is actively involved in academic research, IEEE activities, faculty development programs, and technical event coordination. Her research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Optical Networks, Wireless Communication, and Emerging Technologies. She has contributed to various research publications and actively promotes innovation, technical learning, and professional development among students. She played a key role in establishing the IEEE Student Branch (STB 99078) at Dewan VS Group of Institutions, Meerut, to encourage students and faculty members toward technical learning, professional engagement, and research activities.
