Strategos 2026: The Engineering Management Challenge
Strategos 2026: The Engineering Management Challenge is an IEEE NMIT TEMS SBC initiative designed to bridge the gap between technical expertise and leadership excellence. Scheduled to be conducted on 22nd August 2026 at Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Technology, Bengaluru, the event aims to provide students with a realistic and immersive experience that combines engineering problem-solving, strategic decision-making, crisis management, and professional networking. The event will bring together aspiring engineers, industry mentors, IEEE leaders, entrepreneurs, and faculty experts to explore the intersection of technology and management.
The core highlight of the event is a high-intensity Leadership Simulation where participants take on executive roles within a fictional AI-driven cybersecurity startup facing a large-scale operational crisis. Teams will be challenged to analyze technical failures, manage resources, respond to evolving situations, and make strategic decisions under pressure. This simulation is designed to strengthen leadership abilities, teamwork, communication, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills in an engaging and competitive environment.
In addition to the simulation, Strategos 2026 will feature a Networking Roundtable that enables participants to interact directly with industry professionals, IEEE representatives, startup founders, alumni, and faculty mentors. These structured discussions will focus on engineering management, innovation, entrepreneurship, research opportunities, and career development, helping students gain valuable insights into the evolving technology ecosystem.
By integrating simulation-based learning with mentorship and professional interaction, Strategos 2026 seeks to prepare students not only as capable engineers but also as future leaders who can manage teams, navigate uncertainty, and drive innovation with purpose.
