Best of Capstone is a new IEEE speaker series showcasing outstanding student projects and the teams behind them.

First up is GILJOBI, the team that took first place in this year's Computer Programming and Analysis capstone competition. Their project focus on something that matters to all of us: the Canadian job market. Using real data and analytics, GILJOBI helps users understand hiring trends, what skills employers are actually looking for, and where the opportunities are across the country. If you have ever wondered what the job market really looks like for someone coming out of a tech program in Canada, this is the kind of project that tries to answer that question with data.

The team will walk through how they came up with the idea, the challenges they ran into while building it, the tools and technologies they used, and what the final product looks like in action. They will also share what the experience of competing in the capstone competition was like and what it took to come out on top.
