Workshop "The Human Factor in Digital Risk: Cyber Awareness, AI-Enabled Fraud and Regulatory Readiness" – SMART 2026
IEEE TEMS Bulgaria Chapter workshop within SMART 2026 on cybersecurity and cyber resilience of organizations, with focus on risk management, compliance, preparedness, and practical organizational approaches.
The IEEE Bulgaria Section Technology and Engineering Management Society Chapter, shortly IEEE TEMS Bulgaria Chapter, is pleased to organize a dedicated workshop as part of the International Scientific Conference SMART 2026 – Smart Management, Analytics, Research & Transformation.
The workshop will address key issues related to cybersecurity and cyber resilience of modern organizations. Special attention will be given to the practical challenges faced by companies, public institutions, universities, and technology-driven organizations in managing cyber risks, ensuring compliance, building resilient processes, and developing effective organizational responses to cyber incidents.
The session will combine expert presentation, practical examples, and discussion with participants. The workshop aims to support knowledge exchange between academia, industry, and professional communities, in line with the mission of IEEE TEMS to promote technology and engineering management, innovation, leadership, and organizational transformation.

Mr. Spasov has extensive professional experience in cybersecurity, information security management, auditing, compliance, and organizational cyber resilience.
The event is organized in the context of SMART 2026 and represents one of the first technical activities of the newly established IEEE TEMS Bulgaria Chapter.

Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience of Organizations: Practical Challenges and Management Approaches
The presentation will focus on practical and managerial aspects of cybersecurity and cyber resilience in organizations. It will address key challenges related to information security governance, risk management, compliance, incident preparedness, organizational response, and good practices for strengthening resilience in a digital environment.
The session will also include practical examples and discussion with participants, with emphasis on how organizations can improve their preparedness and response to cyber threats.

Mr. Yanko Spasov is a cybersecurity and information security professional with extensive experience in information security management, auditing, compliance, and organizational cyber resilience. He holds several internationally recognized certifications, including CISA, CISM, MCP, ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor, and CompTIA Security+. His professional expertise covers cybersecurity governance, risk management, information security controls, compliance frameworks, and practical approaches to strengthening organizational resilience against cyber threats.
