AI & CyberSafe Future: Design Thinking for Responsible AI and Cyber Security Awareness among K-12 Students
IEEE SSIT Hyderabad Section Chapter, in association with the Department of Information Technology, Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), Hyderabad, invites K–12 students to participate in a one-day awareness workshop on Responsible AI, Cyber Safety, Digital Citizenship, and Design Thinking. The program is funded by IEEE SSIT under the Member-Driven Education Initiative (MDEI) – SSIT Formation Week 2026 Pilot Program.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital technologies are increasingly influencing how young learners study, communicate, and interact with the world. While these technologies offer tremendous opportunities, they also present challenges related to online safety, misinformation, privacy, ethical decision-making, and responsible technology use.
To address these emerging needs, the IEEE Society on Social Implications of Technology (IEEE SSIT) Hyderabad Section Chapter is organizing a one-day awareness workshop titled:
"AI & CyberSafe Future: Design Thinking for Responsible AI and Cyber Security Awareness among K–12 Students"
as part of SSIT Formation Week 2026 under the IEEE SSIT Member-Driven Education Initiative (MDEI) Pilot Program.
The workshop is designed to introduce school students to the concepts of Responsible Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Safety, Digital Citizenship, and Design Thinking-based problem solving through engaging talks, demonstrations, discussions, and interactive learning activities.
Objectives:
• To Create awareness about Artificial Intelligence and its societal impact.
• To Promote responsible and ethical use of AI technologies.
• To Educate students on cyber security threats and safe online practices.
• To Encourage digital citizenship and responsible online behavior.
• To Introduce Design Thinking as a structured approach to innovation and problem solving.
• To Inspire students to become future-ready technology users and innovators.
Target Audience:
K–12 School Students (Classes V–XII)
Recommended Age:
10 Years and Above
Registration:
• Registration is FREE.
• Participation is limited to 100 students.
• Selection will be on First-Come, First-Served (FCFS) basis.
